Soroptimist Seattle-Metro launched the one-day event, career day at Alan T. Sugiyama High School (previously South Lake High School) in 2020. Several volunteer professional women shared their knowledge and guidance in fields including construction, design, banking, salon, computer science, and environmental careers with a variety of educational pathways. One of the highlights was our guest speaker, a former computer programmer at NASA. Lunch was prepared and served by the local Food Innovation Network (FIN), represented by a woman-owned catering company.

The students surveyed enjoyed the event and look forward to another career day with a greater diversity of people and careers represented.
